17 year old Courtney Scott has lived with her Dad her whole life in Michigan. Her Mother walked out on them when Courtney was only five years old to pursue her career. Courtney doesn't miss her. She has a wonderful Father who works hard to fill both parenting roles. She also has a crazy best friend that goes by the name of Donna. They've been inseparable since Donna moved next door to them.
School is ending for the year and Courtney is looking forward to spending the summer working on cars with her Dad and hanging out with Donna. Those plans gets short lived when her Dad gets a phone call, which will result in changing everyone's lives.
