Alex Gaskarth is the long-lost ex-boyfriend of Kelsey Gates. Told in both present day and through Alex's memories, this story tells the tale of their relationship in high school, and the one event that changed Kelsey's life. In an attempt to gain revenge on the person who hurt Kelsey the most, Alex unintentionally ruins their relationship, leaving him heartbroken for years.

Alex is touring with his best friends, Jack Barakat, Rian Dawson, and Zack Merrick in their band All Time Low. They're having the time of their lives, but Alex knows there's something missing.

One fateful day brings about two surprises for this lead singer. He meets two people from his past at an event that will change his future. Will this be what he's been waiting for, or will it just rip his heart to shreds...again?
