Bittersweet Sundown

“Well, I guess this is it then,” Ashlee said to no one, standing alone in the middle of her living room. She already had all of her necessary things packed and her big backpack was waiting her at the entrance hall. She had given her three pot flowers to Mrs. Hanson, a friendly old lady, living above her. Ash had been helping her with grocery shopping once in a week and Mrs. Hanson was like a friend to her. But she didn’t have to worry about her, Mrs. Hanson had a nice and caring family to take care of her. Looking at the room around her, she couldn’t help but feel a bit empty herself. This place was her home for the last three years but for some reason, it didn’t feel like she’d belong here. She didn’t know if she would come back or not. She had this screaming need to get away for a while and when she had told her boyfriend, Sean, that she was going to visit her friend for a week or two, he’d raised a huge fight, demanding her not to go. But she just couldn’t stay anymore. For all these three years they had been together, she had not once even visited her family back home. She had given up everything for him. Now she felt that if she won’t do anything for herself, she’ll die. Giving that room she was standing, one final look, she walked back to the hall. She needed to grab something to eat before getting on the road. After putting on her jacket, she took her helmet and bag, and then walked out the door, not once looking back. She needed to make some important decisions. The most important one was, will she stay in this relationship or not. They hadn’t broken up last night and she knew Sean would gladly take her back. She just wasn’t sure she wanted to be back. But she had to get away first, she had to clear her head and get rid of all that stress she was in for the last year. She didn’t want to make such an important decision with messed up feelings, she wanted to be 100% sure she’ll choose what’s right for her. That’s why she climbed on her bike and sped out of this town. She needed some time to herself and some long deserved vacation. She had not the slightest idea what was waiting for her on the road.

I didn't plan on posting this story, I wrote it to my best friend, when she had to spend a long time in the hospital, to make her something good to wait for, a new chapter every day. She wanted it to be a fanfic of Avenged Sevenfold. Let's just say that she managed to make me a fan too. And she insisted that I'd post it here too. So here you have it. Laura, this is for you :)
