I don't know the answer to that question...I'm still trying to figure it out for myself. But I can tell you...that it all started with The Last Letter.
Gabriel Farris was born in 1843 and is 18 years old. He is currently going through the first year of the Civil War and has been writing letters to a girl in his town that he is courting. A girl in 2010 finds his last letter and reads it, finding it strange that the girl in the letter has her name....
