It's Not Faith
Matt Sanders knew about his daughter.
Oh, he knew alright. He was the one to fill the college fund every month, and pay the child support. He got a school picture of her every year. He even, sometimes, would get a second picture at Christmas.
He saw her pre-k graduation dress, red with sparkles.
He saw the first time she cut her hair shot; fifth grade.
He saw the picture of her holding her elementry school diploma.
He saw the first time she dyed her hair and got her first piercing, ninth grade.
Her fourth piercing, tenth grade.
Matt had never actually met his daughter though. Her mother refused Matt a glance at her, not even as a baby, red-faced and screaming in the hospital.
Now, that women, a raging alcoholic, is pushing her daughter to him. And he doesn't know what to expect.
