The Beginning of the End

Hi, I'm Lillian Summers. Lilly, for short. I grew up in the town of West Plainfield, New Jersey. It's quiet and sometimes quite boring here. Still, I love this place. I know everyone, they know me back, and it's safe. There aren't many crimes committed here. Most of the reasons why the cops have to go on patrol are college kids' parties.

Belleville, New Jersey is also a town. It's pretty obvious. The only difference here is that it's dangerous here with many crimes. People get arrested everyday for drunk driving, possession of drugs, burglary, anything you can think of. I don't know everyone here and I really don't plan to know them. It's different here. I don't feel safe, I feel...unwelcome and unprotected.

Why can't I just go back to West Plainfield?
