Come Back to Me

Ciara and Tom have been born. The most beautiful twins anyone has ever set eyes on. Their mother, Diane is tired, achy and in need of rest as the babies sleep in their small cots beside her. As Diane drifts off into a deep sleep, the father, Henry is standing by her side admiring his two little creations. He puts on his jacket and quietly leaves, heading outside for a cigarette. He watches people moving quickly, running, patients in wheelchairs being pushed, newborn babies leaving with their new mothers, the start of their life. He is happy, happy that finally, he has a family.

As he walks down the corridor to towards Diane's room there is panic. Nurses and doctors running in and out of he room. His pace quickens. Diane is screaming, crying in agony, nurses trying to calm her down, one nurse calling the police, another calling for someone to search the hospital. His eyes shift down to the cots. One is empty. No one else is holding her, Ciara isn't there. His heart almost stops. Ciara is gone.
